Sometimes fresh starts come in unusual packages. Life together barrels out of the gate after the wedding full of dreams and energy and faith. Then you wake up some 25 odd years later as empty nesters after a cross country move, career changes and challenges and two precious boys that grew to be men and somehow there’s just distance and quiet. Could the foundational faith be rediscovered?

This is a story of reconnecting. Camping brought us back together. It started on a quiet trail in Ha Ha Tonka State Park when Paul gave Leah a Missouri State Park guide and said, “If you will walk with me, I want to work on us.”  Hiking led to camping which led to Lil Red.

Here’s the often humorous story of P Rob and Millie (our camping names) reconnecting as two city kids make their way through a camper purchase, explore campgrounds, set out on hikes, cook in new ways and lead a life of love, faith, and sometimes, cussing. If you like tales of misadventures, pull up a camp chair and sit a spell.

For easy orientation, remember the word “mid.” We’re mid-life. Our hub is mid-Missouri which is kind of in the heart of the Midwest. We prefer midrange trips because someone doesn’t like car captivity. Now we invite you to dive in.
